Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Day 1:Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Drive: 350km

Baga Gazriin Chuluu (“Small Place of Stones”) is a striking granite massif spanning roughly 15 by 10 kilometers in Dundgobi Province. Rising about 200 meters above the surrounding steppe, it features a dramatic, lunar-like landscape of weathered rock formations. The area is home to ancient rock paintings and the 17th-century ruins of Sudutiin Am. Popular with travelers, it offers excellent opportunities for hiking, bouldering, and spotting wildlife such as wild ibex.

Day 2:Tsagaan Suvarga

Drive: 254 km

Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa) is a stunning 60-meter high, 400-meter-long, multi-colored sedimentary cliff in Mongolia's Dundgobi province. Shaped by millions of years of erosion, its dramatic white and red limestone layers resemble the ruins of an ancient city. It is a premier Gobi desert destination for hiking and photography.

Yolin Am

Day 3:Yolin Am

Drive: 235km

Yolyn Am, meaning “Valley of the Bearded Vulture,” is a breathtaking narrow canyon located within Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park in southern Mongolia. Towering rock walls rise up to 200 meters on either side, creating a dramatic natural corridor. Even more remarkable is its thick ice field, which often remains frozen well into the summer, offering a refreshing contrast to the surrounding desert heat. The gorge is an excellent destination for hiking, wildlife spotting—including wild ibex—and observing majestic bearded vultures soaring overhead.

Khongor Sand Dunes

Day 4:Khongor Sand Dunes

Drive: 210 km

Khongoryn Els, widely known as the “Singing Dunes” by locals, are the largest sand dunes in Mongolia. Stretching some 180 kilometers across the Gobi Desert and rising up to 300 meters high, they form a vast sea of golden sand. Located within Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, the dunes span nearly 7 kilometers in width and create a dramatic contrast where towering sands meet a lush green oasis and the winding Khongoryn Gol. Their name comes from the deep, rumbling, plane-engine-like sound produced when wind sweeps across the shifting sand slopes.

Bayanzag

Day 6:Bayanzag

Drive: 180km

Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs, is one of the most iconic sites in the Gobi Desert. Its dramatic ochre-red sandstone formations appear to blaze at sunset, creating a vivid, otherworldly landscape. The area gained international recognition in the 1920s when explorer Roy Chapman Andrews led the expedition that uncovered the world’s first scientifically recognized dinosaur eggs here. Today, Bayanzag remains a renowned paleontological treasure trove, rich in Cretaceous-era fossils and sculpted by wind into striking canyons and cliffs.
